Rob + Alana's Lovely Louisville Wedding

Meet Rob + Alana, two of our favorites. Aren't they just the cutest?

Rob and Alana serendipitously met on New Year's Eve in downtown Nashville as they both flagged down the same cab (seriously - like a movie). They ended up spending the night galavanting around Nashville's honky tonks and Rob serenaded Alana with some late night karaoke. He must have had one sweet singing voice, because the rest is history.

They got married on May 18 and we just had to share a little bit of their day!

We loved that they did a handfasting ceremony. Fun fact: A handfasting ceremony is an ancient marriage ritual made popular in Ireland and Scotland. This symbolic lashing together of the couple’s hands is the origin of the familiar expression “tying the knot.”

Their venue, the Marcus Lindsey, is a restored sanctuary that was built in 1898 at the center of the NuLu district in Louisville. The venue boasts it's original stained glass windows and hand-crafted cathedral ceiling. Yes, it was as beautiful as it sounds.

Hands down, our favorite detail of their wedding (and of their love story in general) is what we'll call the "love wall." The wall was a collection of memories that Rob had gathered throughout their entire relationship, from ticket stubs to cocktail napkins from the restaurants they had visited. On most of the items, he would write the date and a memory that they shared from that day/evening. They plan to continue adding to the wall throughout their relationship. We'll pause here for a resounding "awww!"

We're so, so happy that we got to be a part of this day. Congratulations Rob + Alana, we're wishing you many more amazing memories to add to your collection!

P.S. Did we mention that they went on a safari in Africa for their honeymoon? Or that they look as good in khaki as they do in their wedding attire?!
